Vector Fleet Management Begins 10-Year Contract with 2 Five Year Renewals for City of Fayetteville
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (PRWEB) July 31, 2019 -- Vector Fleet Management, LLC, a Charlotte, North Carolina-based dedicated fleet maintenance service provider and trusted partner for contract fleet maintenance since 1988, announced the start of its 20-year contract with the City of Fayetteville, which officially kicked off on July 1. At the heart of this contract is a new 41,000 square-foot facility located at 131 Pepsi Lane in Fayetteville, offering what Vector representatives are calling a “full spectrum” of cutting-edge management, maintenance and cost control services, and which functions as a vital hub for a variety of vehicles owned and operated by the City.
The new facility encompasses four key elements including automotive workshop infrastructure, tooling/fabrication, administrative offices/customer waiting area and parking/storage, and accommodates a variety of different vehicle sizes and weights. The 41,000 square-foot space, formerly a beverage bottling and distribution center, is being described as a high-tech management/maintenance workshop and vehicle storage facility “set to transform the management of fleets in Fayetteville.”
The City of Fayetteville’s fleet, currently consisting of fire rescue apparatus, police cars, emergency vehicles, heavy trucks and equipment, snow plows, lawn maintenance equipment, bucket trucks and refuse trucks, will be serviced through the facility’s specialized lifts and repair bays, each of which have been specially designed for maintaining these types of vehicles. By investing in six automotive/SUV/light truck lifts and two medium/heavy duty truck lifts, Vector Fleet is in a position to provide tailored fleet management services for the various types of vehicles in the City’s fleet.
Additionally, a total of 22 new repair bays – 12 for automobiles and light trucks, six for medium and heavy duty trucks and four for specialized refuse trucks and equipment repair services – has been established by Vector Fleet, representing a careful planning stage that ensures efficient and cost-effective repairs.
With a property that spans a total of five acres, the fully-fenced site also offers the capability to undertake money-saving preventative maintenance, placing an emphasis on repairing “mission critical” vehicles following a breakdown. When technicians are not working on providing remedial repairs to essential vehicles, they will be performing routine maintenance services on a tightly regulated schedule for the City’s diverse fleet.
“Vector Fleet expects to help the City of Fayetteville save money and improve its fleet performance through careful management at this new facility,” states James A. Overstreet, President and CEO of Vector Fleet. “The announcement of this new space is proof that our performance threshold commitments present the highest in quality service and accountability.
“Indeed, our company exists to ensure our clients save time and money while experiencing unparalleled levels of customer satisfaction.”
Under its new contract, Vector Fleet carries the responsibility of performing not only maintenance and repair duties, but state inspections and diagnostic procedures, as well. The company will also be maintaining a large diverse parts inventory to facilitate repairs in a timely manner while utilizing its sophisticated Fleet Management Information System (FMIS), boasting software that permits Vector Fleet technicians and staff monitor the productivity of its workforce in detail.
“Managers know precisely how much time employees expend completing each repair order, and our FMIS protocol encourages service technicians to maintain a minimum of 85-percent with regard to productivity level to reduce waste and duplicate efforts,” adds Overstreet.
Vector’s commitments are governed by Performance Thresholds, defined by company reps as accountability metrics which ensure the highest level of service excellence.
