Former Anthem, Inc. executive to play critical role in mainstream adoption of Vida’s cutting-edge virtual care platform

"We need incentives and reimbursement models that expand access to continuous virtual care while delivering outcomes that exceed today’s status quo" - Veeneta Lakhani, SVP of Health Services, Vida Health

Vida Health, a personalized virtual care platform for physical and behavioral health, today announced the hire of Veeneta Lakhani, previously of Anthem, Inc., as Senior Vice President of Health Services.

As SVP of Health Services, Lakhani will lead growth and execution for Vida’s payer, provider, and pharmacy benefit manager sectors, with a focus on building Vida’s virtual care platform into the fabric of today’s complex health system.

“Our existing health care system has lagged behind in terms of providing access to continuous virtual care that happens outside the hospital and between doctor’s visits, especially for people living with multiple chronic conditions,” said Stephanie Tilenius, CEO of Vida Health. “That’s where Veeneta is going to play a key role. Her breadth of experience is going to give us a huge advantage when it comes to working with healthcare partners and driving adoption at scale.”

Veeneta joins Vida after a decade of working in multiple executive health plan roles. Prior to Vida, Veeneta worked as both Vice President of Provider Enablement and Vice President of Provider Operations at Anthem, spanning major strategic priorities including payment innovation, service operational redesign and investment planning and execution. While there, Veeneta led the rollout of Anthem’s accountable care and physician collaboration program, shifting Anthem's medical spend to value-based reimbursement and enabling physicians to deliver higher quality, lower cost care. Veeneta began her career as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, where she was an associate partner in the Insurance practice.

“In a value-based world, there's a huge need to innovate care models in a way that empowers people to take charge of both their physical and behavioral health. We need incentives and reimbursement models that expand access to continuous virtual care while delivering outcomes that exceed today’s status quo,” said Veeneta Lakhani, SVP of Health Services as Vida Health. “I’m looking forward to collaborating with payers and providers to integrate Vida into their plans and offerings, so that everyone has access to virtual care that addresses the root cause of chronic conditions.”
