Ventacity Systems VS1000RT Awarded Passive House Certification by the Passive House Institute
Portland, OR (PRWEB) June 16, 2016 -- Ventacity Systems was awarded Passive House Certification for its new VS1000RT product by the Passive House Institute earlier this week. The certification was presented at the Annual North American Passive House Conference NAPHN16 event on Monday.
The VS1000RT is a high performance rooftop Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) that can be installed during new building construction or as a retrofit. It is designed for commercial building types including office, retail, schools churches, and restaurants.
The Passive House standards certify the system goes above and beyond typical energy efficiency standards and is built to the highest quality, while also providing a high level of comfort to the building’s occupants.
“This product is transformational for the North American Passive House market,” said Witta Ebel of the Passive House Institute. “The North American Market has been waiting for a product like this that is certified by Passive House Institute . . . to the highest standards of quality and performance in the industry.”
Sal D’Auria, Ventacity Systems President and CEO, was a featured speaker at the NAPHN16 conference to introduce the VS1000RT to architects, engineers, consultants, HVAC contractors and the greater high-efficiency building community.
“We’re passionate about reducing the carbon footprint of commercial buildings in North America while making these buildings healthier and more comfortable for their occupants,” D’Auria said.
The product brings together best-of-class ultra high efficiency heat recovery technology from around the world and a new level of system intelligence/control. All housed in a rugged package designed for the harsh environments of building rooftops.
“We are excited to be shipping the first UL, CSA, and now Passive House Certified counterflow heat recovery ventilation (HRV) product in North America,” D'Auria said. “We’re going to help a lot of commercial buildings save a lot of energy . . . and be a lot healthier."
