Ventura Law Mourns the Passing of its Founder, Attorney Americo S. Ventura
Danbury, Connecticut (PRWEB) September 06, 2017 -- It is with great sadness that Ventura Law announces the loss of our founder, Americo S. Ventura, who passed away on September 1, 2017. Our firm has lost a great leader and his passing will be felt throughout our community and the entire legal profession. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Ventura's wife and family through this time.
For the past 60 years, "Mr. V" - as he was affectionately known in our firm - was a fixture here in Danbury, the city he loved, providing legal services built on the principle of compassionate service and giving back to the community. We can all truly say that we are blessed for the opportunity to have worked under his leadership and example. He believed that the law was an honorable profession - one of service and esteem – and he continued to exemplify those values, and practice the profession he loved, until his passing.
Mr. Ventura began practicing law in 1957 in Danbury, CT when he founded our firm – marking this as the firm’s 60th anniversary year. The son of Portuguese immigrants, a United States Army Veteran, and the former Chief Prosecutor in the city of Danbury, Mr. Ventura was proud of his role in bringing diversity to the local bar and to the law firm. He had partnered with Dianne Andersen, the first female lawyer in Danbury in 1957, and hired Danbury's first African American attorney, Connecticut Court of Appeals Judge Thomas G. West. Mr. Ventura was recently honored for 60 years of service to the legal community by the Danbury Bar Association and received numerous recognitions and proclamations from the City of Danbury and the U.S. Senate for his pro bono and community service.
"Mr. Ventura was an iconic figure in the legal community and in the City of Danbury, and served our community with vigor for over 60 years. He loved to counsel families and navigate them through the challenges of the law. He also served as a role model and mentor to thousands of people who wanted a better life for their children", says Augie Ribeiro, who serves as Ventura Law's CEO. "He was, until his last days, a fighter for the causes and people he believed in. We will celebrate his legacy by continuing to serve our clients and the community with the zeal and compassion he stood for," says Ribeiro.
