Vern Fonk Celebrates Two Grand Openings By Feeding the Community
Lynnwood, WA (PRWEB) June 23, 2014 -- Pacific Northwest personal and commercial insurance company Vern Fonk is opening their 17th store in Bremerton, Washington on June 27th and their 18th store in Bellevue, Washington on July 9th. The Bremerton location event will go from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the Bellevue location will be celebrating from 12-2:00 p.m. They’re guaranteeing a free lunch to the first 100 guests to arrive to the party, courtesy of local restaurants. They've also teamed up with Washington State charity organizations Hopelink and the Northwest division of The Salvation Army in order to run food drives to help support struggling families in the Bellevue and Bremerton areas.
Vern Fonk president and star of their hilarious TV commercials Robert Thielke will be on location at both events to greet fans and sign autographs. “I’m very excited to be able to offer auto, home and business insurance to the Bellevue, Bremerton and Kitsap communities at a reasonable price with great customer service,” said Thielke. Bremerton Mayor Patty Lent will be attending the opening ceremony for the 17th location to cut the ribbon for the new store.
Each event will be catered by different local restaurants, with Bellevue guests enjoying American-inspired meals from Skillet food trucks and Bremerton guests sampling gourmet sandwiches from Jimmy John’s. Skillet is a Seattle area street food, catering and restaurant business that started in 2007 and helped to launch the street food craze that’s been sweeping the nation. Jimmy John’s opened up a single location in 1983 and was the first sandwich shop to deliver meals to its customers. Since then it has expanded into a national chain with locations all over the country.
All guests are encouraged to bring a canned food donation to each event to help kick off the week-long food drives that Vern Fonk is spearheading with Hopelink and The Salvation Army. Hopelink has been helping support low-income families from Bellevue, Kirkland/Northshore, Redmond, Shoreline and Sno-Valley since 1971 with food and financial assistance, education and employment resources, transportation, and emergency housing. Vern Fonk will be working to collect food donations through the following week throughout both Bellevue and Bremerton. All donations will go to struggling families within the local communities.
Vern Fonk Insurance opened in 1952 and has since grown into 18 locations across Washington State and Oregon. Although they’re best known for their auto insurance, as well as the unusual humor in their TV commercials, they now offer a wide range of insurance options in addition to home, auto, and business insurance, including broad form, motorcycle, boat, renter’s, and RV insurance, and much more. Their wacky TV ads and parody sketches have made them a cult hit with much of the local community, contributing to their substantial growth in the last 20 years.
