Vertebrae, a technology innovator in interactive 3D and AR solutions, today announced that momentum is accelerating as retailers turn to Vertebrae for AR and 3D shopping experiences that are available to any consumer, on any device – no app required. To keep pace, Vertebrae is opening an additional office in Austin, Texas and has appointed two retail tech visionaries to help lead the company through its next stage of growth and expansion into new markets. Together, these executives bring more than 20 combined years of retail and consumer technology expertise from Bazaarvoice, Compare Metrics, RetailMeNot, and Dosh to the Vertebrae executive bench.

Renowned ecommerce technology executive and serial entrepreneur Garrett Eastham has joined the company as Chief Data Officer and will be responsible for innovation and product development to help retailers further leverage 3D and AR for exceptional shopping experiences. Rob Weaver, a retail and consumer technology veteran, has also joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer and will oversee Vertebrae’s global sales and client services strategy to help drive the company’s market penetration in retail.

“This is an exciting time for Vertebrae as we scale to deliver AR and 3D shopping experiences to retailers across the US,” said Vince Cacace, founder and CEO of Vertebrae.“ Austin emerged as a natural fit for our expansion because of its vibrant and thriving tech community. We’re also excited to welcome two well-known Austin technology veterans to the executive bench. Together, they will lead the Austin office and oversee key hires in sales, product development, and customer success to meet market demand and ensure that our retail clients derive maximum value from their AR and 3D implementations.”

Garrett Eastham, Chief Data Officer
Garrett Eastham has been working exclusively in ecommerce for the past ten years, where he has successfully brought new products and technologies to market that have generated millions in incremental revenue for the world’s leading retail brands, including Crate and Barrel, Staples, HSN, Travelocity, Neiman Marcus, Walgreens, Pier1 Imports, and more. Before joining Vertebrae, he led the data and analytics team at Bazaarvoice where he developed a groundbreaking new tracking methodology for UGC that showed the financial impact of review content on consumer behavior. He was also the co-founder and CEO at Compare Metrics, a groundbreaking product discovery platform that was acquired by GroupBy. Garrett holds a BS in Computer Science from Stanford University where his research work in semantic search and human computer interaction (HCI) formed the theoretical basis for the Compare Metrics solution and architecture, and he has been tapped to speak publicly as an expert on these topics. He has multiple patents pending in the areas of web analytics, data mining, and recommender systems.

“The bulk of my career has been dedicated to analyzing how people think about, and ultimately make, purchasing decisions online,” said Garrett Eastham, Chief Data Officer at Vertebrae. “I’m passionate about using technology and data to help retailers navigate the mass movement from physical to digital commerce, and I joined Vertebrae because they have everything in place to bring innovative 3D and AR-driven shopping experiences to consumers around the world.”

Rob Weaver, Chief Revenue Office
Rob Weaver joins Vertebrae with a successful history in establishing and leading high performing sales teams. Throughout his career, Weaver has worked with some of the largest retailers in the world on their digital marketing initiatives, including Walmart, Macy’s, Chase Manhattan, Starwood, Tory Burch, and Kate Spade. Before joining Vertebrae, he served as Regional Vice President of Sales at Dosh, a fintech app, where he was responsible for bringing large retail partners onto the platform. Prior to that, he was Regional Vice President at Civitas Learning where he forged strategic partnerships that were critical in driving the company’s rapid growth. Rob also spent four years at Bazaarvoice, where he worked closely with large retail clients to maximize ROI from their social commerce initiatives.

“3D / AR are revolutionizing digital shopping because it solves the core human desire to view an item in your own environment before you buy it,” said Rob Weaver, Chief Revenue Officer at Vertebrae. “Vertebrae is set to transform every retail vertical with its innovative technology and market vision, and I’m thrilled to be joining the team at such an exciting juncture.”
