Red Banyan, a crisis communications firm that handles complex, high-stakes communications issues, has hired veteran journalist Sallie James as Senior Content Strategist. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Sallie will oversee a wide range of content creation and copywriting, assist clients with achieving earned media, and utilize her journalistic expertise to craft, edit and secure publication for a wide range of written materials.

“I’m thrilled to be joining one of the leading crisis PR agencies in the U.S. and confident my reporting skills and background will help to further enhance the firm’s reach and reputation,” Sallie said. “I love sharing people’s stories and am looking forward to being part of a team known for professionalism and dedication to achieving results.”

Red Banyan Founder and CEO Evan Nierman stated: “Our industry-leading clients benefit immensely from the unique perspective that we provide, and that is due in part to our ability to recruit and retain talented former journalists. After leaving daily journalism, Sallie worked for years in corporate communications and marketing, with stints at a law firm, a major automotive company and a large non-profit organization. She also freelanced as a stringer for C-SPAN and has written for a variety of community newspapers.
