NEW YORK, Oct. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- VFR Healthcare (Veteran & First Responder Healthcare) and the non-profit Operation Art District Healthcare (OAD Healthcare) today announced a new partnership to enhance Veterans' access to Creative Arts Therapies.
OAD Healthcare offers a unique approach to helping active-duty military members and Veterans suffering from mental health issues through a holistic approach to the healing process. This unique approach, called Creative Arts Therapy, is offered in both group and individual sessions which includes techniques that can be used for self-expression and personal growth when the patient is unable to participate in traditional "talk therapy," or when that approach has become ineffective. The goal is to provide a medium for expression that bypasses words, thus helping the individual connect with emotions injected into the core of various personal experiences.
VFR is a national veteran-owned and veteran-operated organization treating Veterans, first responders, and their families and caretakers, who are dealing with substance use and mental health issues. Since June of 2018, VFR and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) have partnered together to enhance Veterans' access to mental health and substance abuse services to reduce suicide.
