Demand for Australian Wines Creates Need for Experts, Renowned Victorian Bar School Launches Certificate II in Wine Industry Training Course
Melbourne, Australia (PRWEB) October 07, 2014 -- The Victorian Bar School is proud to announce the Victorian Registrations and Qualifications Authority’s (VRQA) approval to offer a Certificate II in Wine Industry Operations to their students. The VRQA is the statutory authority responsible for ensuring employers, and providers of education and training, meet quality standards.
The Victorian Bar School’s certification covers the following areas: wine knowledge, product tasting, and cellar door sales along with food and beverage service, bartending and coffee making.
Australia is now one of the major exporters of wines with bottles being sold in over 100 countries. The wine industry is on a roll, with total production constantly on the rise since 2010. As a result, and with over 1,900 wineries across the country, there is a need for more people to fulfill vital positions in the production process.
To help cover these employment deficits, the Victorian Bar School is now offering a Certificate II in Wine Industry Operations which teaches individuals the ins and outs of working in a winery.
“We fully understand the need to professionally train people who are interested in the wine industry,” says Warrick Steabben, Director of the Victorian Bar School “As such, we submitted our addition to scope to Victorian Registrations and Qualifications Authority to be able to offer this qualification. This way, our students can be assured that they’re getting the best possible training. And at the end of the course, their certificates will be nationally recognised by their future employers across Australia.”
The Certificate II in Wine Industry Operations has a strong focus on Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), wine skills and knowledge. It also includes subjects on barista coffee, bartending and food safety for a complete training package.
The Victorian Bar School has been a long-standing RSA training centre over the past 42 years, teaching countless students throughout the decades. It runs many classes per week, with some of the cheapest courses of its kind in Melbourne and is endorsed by the Australian Bartenders Guild.
