ViiV Healthcare and ViiV Fitness have reached an agreement regarding their trademark dispute involving their similar names and potentially confusing overlap in the marketplace.
ORLANDO, Fla., April 27, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ViiV Healthcare and ViiV Fitness have reached an agreement regarding their trademark dispute involving their similar names and potentially confusing overlap in the marketplace.
ViiV Healthcare is a pharmaceutical company focused exclusively on HIV treatment and prevention medicines. ViiV Healthcare was created in 2009 as a joint venture by Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline, with Shionogi joining in 2012.
ViiV Fitness was created in 2016 as a manufacturer of specialized isometric strength training equipment. The ViiV-Rx Isometric Strength Training Machine was created by ViiV Fitness in 2017, and is used by wellness professionals primarily for seniors concerned about weakening bones (osteopenia and osteoporosis - most common in women over 45 years old).
Although terms of the agreement remain confidential, ViiV Fitness has agreed to change its name to viiiv Fitness and change its logo to reflect the new company name. ViiV Healthcare has agreed to relinquish any further claims against the new viiiv Fitness company and brand.
