City of Villa Rica passes millage rate of 5.588 mills for 2026
VILLA RICA, Ga., Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Villa Rica City Council voted August 28, 2028, to maintain the city's millage rate 5.588 mills for 2026.
Georgia law requires local governments to calculate a rollback millage rate to keep total tax revenue flat. If a government maintains the millage rate instead of lowering it to the rollback rate, the state treats it as a tax increase.
As a result of maintaining its current millage rate, under state law property taxes will increase 3.71 percent in the city. The tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $325,000 will be approximately $26. The tax increase for a non-homestead property with a fair market value of $337,500 is approximately $27.
