Epica™ Customer, Mobile Pet Imaging Featured on Nat Geo Wild, for Mobile CT Scan of a Marmoset.
San Clemente, CA (PRWEB) July 07, 2016 -- Epica™ Medical Innovations, a leader in innovative veterinary CT scanners and regenerative therapy solutions for the veterinary market; announced that customer, Mobile Pet Imaging was featured on Nat Geo Wild’s show Dr. K’s Exotic Animal ER, using their mobile High-Definition Veterinary CT Scanner, Vimago™.
Mobile Pet Imaging, a Miami based, leading-edge, mobile veterinary imaging provider, was contacted to perform a CT scan of a marmoset named Bella Luna.
Mobile Pet Imaging’s co-owner and lead veterinarian, Dr. Xavier Meaux, brought the Vimago™ HD CT Scanner in MPI’s custom-built, mobile truck that was specifically designed to safely transport high-tech equipment and provide a safe, clean and tranquil place to perform the procedures. More specifically, Mobile Pet Imaging can image very tiny patients, like the 1.5 pound marmoset and very large animals (up to 220 pounds) using the Vimago platform.
Vimago™ is a new type of CT technology that uses 60-90% less radiation than conventional CT, allowing the device to be used in a mobile setting. Vimago™ is the first device in the world to employ HD (High-Definition) 3D Technology; resulting in crystal clear 3D images, enabling veterinarians to provide better, faster and more accurate diagnoses and treatment, like in the case of Bella Luna.
“We were incredibly excited to see our Vimago™ CT scanner being used on the show to help diagnose Bella Luna. Epica’s mission is to improve the health, outcomes and prognoses and It’s very rewarding to see the people and animals our equipment helps.” Commented Greg Stoutenburgh, CEO, Epica™ Medical Innovations.
“It was a pleasure meeting Dr. K, and helping her see more with our High Definition CT scans.”
Noted Dr. Xavier Meaux, co-owner and lead veterinarian for Mobile Pet Imaging.
It is not only an honor to help Dr. K diagnose Bella Luna, but I must say I was also a little “star struck” when Dr. K personally texted me during the show’s premiere to say “You’re on TV!” Added Dr. Pedro F. Armstrong, DVM DACVIM, Co-owner and Managing Partner.
