The big news to come out of the first day of the annual convention is from API Audio, who is releasing two new analog consoles. API Audio's brand new 2448 recording console finds its inspiration in the brand's classic 2488 console. Vintage King has already sold one of the first API Audio 2448 recording consoles built for long-time client, Kingsize Soundlabs in Los Angeles, California.
API Audio's second console release is an updated version of the 1608 console, which has been a top seller for Vintage King since the original's debut. The 1608-II will feature several modern upgrades, including four automated stereo returns, instead of the eight mono echo returns featured in the MK 1 version of the console.
In other news at AES, Solid State Logic is celebrating the release of their new mix bus processor, the Fusion. For the first time in company history, Solid State Logic is forgoing its tradition for transparency and has created a tool with five on-board analog coloring tools. The Fusion is sure to add analog warmth and width to music being recorded and mixed within any digital audio workstation.
Moog Music made headlines prior to AES with the announcement of their first analog polysynth in over 30 years. The Moog One is a tri-timbral synthesizer that comes in 8-voice and 16-voice and each voice features three envelopes, four LFOs and three analog VCOs. With the ability to create an incredible range of sounds, the Moog One is sure to be one of the hottest selling synthesizers of the new year.
