Virginia Chooses AISN to Build, Support Its Citizen-Facing Websites and Apps
AIS Network, a Virginia-certified small business, has been selected by the Virginia Information Technologies Agency as a contracted supplier chosen to build and support citizen-facing websites and applications for Virginia agencies and other public entities.
RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 30, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- AIS Network today announced its selection by the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) as one of three contracted suppliers chosen to build and support citizen-facing websites and applications for Virginia state agencies and other public entities, including counties, municipalities, educational institutions and public safety providers. AISN has been supporting the commonwealth since 2012 and is joined by KPMG and longtime partner Microsoft.
In addition to website and web application design and development, the scope of the contract, which was recently signed with VITA, includes supporting hosting, operations/maintenance, full life-cycle support, and payment processing services. Supporting services must be directly associated with the specific site or application being developed and managed by the supplier. The contract spans five years with three optional one-year renewals.
"Since 2012, AISN has been transforming Virginia agencies to achieve advanced information security, IT systems efficiency, cloud readiness, intelligent governance and risk management," said AISN CEO Jay Atkinson.
"After working with dozens of agencies on eGov-related initiatives, we've developed a government IT brain trust based on our unparalleled knowledge of state agencies and their unique needs when it comes to protecting data, ensuring compliance, navigating policy matters, and understanding the minutiae of their governance and auditing environments. We look forward to working with VITA and the agencies as eGov evolves in this next generation," Atkinson said.
For the last seven years, under multiple contracts, AISN has provided state agencies and other public entities with a full suite of mission-critical cloud enablement, risk management, IT security and infrastructure services, hosting and award-winning application development services.
Atkinson said KPMG and Microsoft will contribute depth and breadth of knowledge as well as diversity of experience.
"While we are proud of the work AISN has done, we also recognize that innovation requires increased diversity of thought, which, in turn, will drive better service to our customers," Atkinson said.
"To that end, we have developed relationships with KPMG and will team with the company on this contract. KPMG enhances the commonwealth's customer experience by bringing to the table different perspectives and alliances with world-class companies. They also enhance our ability to bring flexibility, innovation and strategic vision to agency customers."
KPMG is one of the world's leading professional services firms, providing innovative business solutions and audit, tax and advisory services to many of the world's largest and most prestigious organizations.
Microsoft and AISN have been working together for many years to empower customers in an era of digital transformation. Microsoft also has a rich history of successful work with the commonwealth over the years, having created nearly 1,800 jobs in Virginia. Under the new contract, AISN will use Microsoft products in providing public-facing websites. This will include solutions involving Microsoft Windows Server and Microsoft Azure.
Based in Virginia, AISN is a SWaM-certified small business (#723554) and a leading eGov provider for the commonwealth.
