Virginia Candidates Talk Education in Candidate Questionnaire Videos
Richmond, VA (PRWEB) September 17, 2013 -- The Virginia Prosperity Project (VirginiaP2), the Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s non-partisan, voter education and GOTV campaign, launched its second week of video interviews focusing on education. The videos feature Ken Cuccinelli, Terry McAuliffe, E.W. Jackson and Ralph Northam discussing their positions on education in Virginia.

Ken Cuccinelli - “I want to increase our private sector partnerships with higher education institutions especially through STEM-H scholarships. I would like to make a run at being able to guarantee qualified kids $10,000 degrees.”
Terry McAuliffe -“I’m a huge proponent of financial aid, we need to make sure that every one of our students that want to, [can] go on to 4 year or even 2 year [institutions]. I view education as an investment.”
Robert Sarvis - “We need to move towards a 21st century economy, and that includes a 21st century education system. The way we have been doing things is a last century model, where we are subsidizing schools, especially on the K-12 level that are failing us, and failing to provide us with the job skills that we need.”

“We challenged the 2013 candidates to give voters a clear sense of how they plan to maintain Virginia’s excellence in higher education while also making tuition more affordable and investing in education and skills training at all levels,” Dunn concluded.
VirginiaP2’s candidate questionnaire videos focus on eight specific topics ranging from healthcare, workforce, business climate, taxation, and Virginia’s regulatory system. Comparing and contrasting the candidates on the issues that matter most to the public and employers and employees.
