TUSCON, Ariz., September 23, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Virtual Vocations, the web's largest hand-screened, all-telecommute job board, has named the top 20 industries for remote work so far in 2019.
In the company's latest report, "2019 Best Remote Work Industries," Virtual Vocations reveals the 20 career categories that offered the most remote job openings to its jobseekers from January through June of this year. And less than 12 months after the company announced its 2018 top industries, there have been some surprising changes to the list.
"While many of the top industries for remote work have stayed the same from 2018, marketing and human services moved up this year, replacing management and translation roles for spots in the top 10," noted Virtual Vocations CEO and co-founder Laura Spawn.
That's good news for jobseekers: marketing positions have some of the highest salary outlooks among the industries on the list, with marketing managers seeing a median salary of over $117,000 per year, according to May 2018 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
Jobseekers can also look forward to increased job availability in many of the industries highlighted by Virtual Vocations. Jobs in translation are expected to see a 19% growth through 2028, according to the BLS, while roles in project management are expected to see a massive 31% growth from 2017 to 2027.
"Jobseekers looking for remote work can use this information as they drill down on positions that use their expertise," Spawn said. "These rising industries are the perfect place to start your job search."
Virtual Vocations' top 10 industries for remote work so far in 2019 are as follows:
1. Information Technology
4. Account Management
5. Project Management
6. Customer Service
10. Human Services
