Tucson, Arizona (PRWEB) February 10, 2016 -- In their ongoing commitment to help job seekers find employers that hire remote workers, today Virtual Vocations shared research findings on 40 Employers that support the telecommuting lifestyle.
Telecommuting work arrangements have increased by 103% since 2005 with more than 13.4 million people working from home at least one day a week in 2015. In addition to seeing a reduction in overhead costs, companies are seeing increased levels of employee satisfaction, greater levels of productivity and lower attrition rates by providing staff with the flexibility to work from home.
“Finding a telecommute job that’s a good lifestyle fit involves more than submitting a resume to a job ad,” said Laura Spawn, Founder and CEO of Virtual Vocations, the largest and most comprehensive online database of telecommute-only jobs. “Company culture is an important part of job satisfaction. Working for a company whose values and behaviors align with your own leads to a greater sense of belonging, increased job happiness, and improved chances for professional success. As part of our mission to help people find the most recent telecommuting job leads available, we also work hard to provide information about the companies doing the hiring so job seekers can find employers whose beliefs, actions, attitudes are complimentary with their own.”
The Virtual Vocations team reviewed thousands of employers offering telecommute jobs last year to identify employers who are either 100% virtual companies or fully embrace distributed workforce arrangements.
• IT Companies Lead Results
Of the 40 companies profiled, 65% are Information Technology corporations with Internet and eCommerce comprising 15% of the employers and marketing and training companies representing 8% and 5%, respectively. Other industries include consulting, finance and healthcare.
• Headquarters Trends
A majority of the companies identified their headquarters in the Northeast and Pacific coasts with 9 companies on the Pacific coast and 10 in the Northeast. Strikingly, 6 companies are located internationally, including headquarters in Hong Kong, Chile, Ireland, Poland, and Spain.
• The Most Popular Telecommuting Job Types
Since most of the companies profiled were in the IT field, it’s not surprising the majority of telecommute jobs identified were in the tech industry. The most popular jobs titles companies recruited for include Software Engineering, Software Development, Web Development and Technical Support. Other prevalent positions include Marketing and Social Media Management, Sales and Customer Service.
