Virtual Vocations Unveils the 25 Best Telecommute Jobs of 2016
Tucson, AZ (PRWEB) September 24, 2016 -- To create their list of the “25 Best Telecommute Jobs of 2016,” Virtual Vocations’ staff examined their own data as well as statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and PayScale—an online storehouse of salary data and surveys updated in real-time.
Laura Spawn, CEO and co-founder of Virtual Vocations said regarding the list, "Combing through over a half million jobs each year gives us a unique perspective when it comes to identifying telecommute positions that are in highest demand, as well as those that are most sought after by job seekers, and we are excited to share our findings with those interested in telecommuting."
Methodology
-Generating Virtual Vocations’ “Best Of” telecommute jobs list for 2016 involved the following three-fold data analytics process:
-Reviewing Virtual Vocations subscriber data from the first quarter of 2016 on the types of telecommute jobs to which they regularly apply
-Researching PayScale salary comparison information on the average wages of the most popular remote professions
-Examining BLS statistics on the projected job growth of each telecommute job through 2024
Findings
-Virtual Vocations’ investigation into the best telecommute jobs for the current year yielded insights like the following:
-Telecommute jobs for Software Developers and Project Managers consistently remain the most sought after positions
-The highest salaries are earned by professionals in telecommuting executive level and management roles, which reflects one of Virtual Vocations’ largest subscriber demographics: telecommuters with more than five years of experience who earn upwards of $71,000 per year
-Remote work opportunities in consulting, nursing, and research are some of the fastest growing
Changes from 2015
Virtual Vocations compared their telecommuting jobs data from the first quarter of 2016 against 2015 statistics on the types of telecommute jobs to which most Virtual Vocations subscribers applied and noted changes in job search and application trends:
