SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 15, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Look back at growing up in London during a tumultuous time, traveling the world, and advancements over several decades with author Peter Gandell in his new autobiography "Adventures of an Inveterate Traveler" (published by Archway Publishing).
One of Gandell's earliest recollections involves the coronation of King George VI in 1937. The whole school assembled in the main hall to listen to his coronation speech, but at that age, the kids couldn't comprehend the auspicious occasion. Later, knowing London would be a prime target, his parents shuttled him and his sister back and forth between London and Wales depending upon the severity of the bombing and the forecast for future enemy raids. Besides those major historical events, the author goes into detail about the rest of his life, noting important experiences he had along the way.
"I'm sure the average traveler has not been to a number of the described countries which may appeal to the adventurous. For the middle aged or more senior it will bring back memories of their life," Gandell says, adding that he hopes readers take away, "A more tolerant attitude and an appreciation of the extremely small size of our planet and only conceivable home."
