FREDERICK, Md. (PRWEB) November 30, 2021
Visit Frederick officially welcomed Phil Bowers of Fountain Rock Management as the new president of the organization’s board of directors on November 12, 2021. Bowers takes on the position previously held by Scott Wisnom of Whiskey Creek Golf Club for nearly four years. Wisnom’s term as president was lengthened as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Board presidents typically serve two year terms.
“We thank Scott for his service as board president during a time of uncertainty, guiding us through a global pandemic and the search for a new executive director,” Bowers said. “The organization is in great shape and I’m excited to work with my fellow board members, Executive Director Dave Ziedelis, and the Visit Frederick team in this new role.”
The board also made changes to its executive committee. Kendall Tiffany (Frederick County Transit) and Robert Judge (National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Seton) became 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents of the board, joined by newcomer Kristin Hanna (Flying Dog Brewery) as Secretary. Michael Henningsen (Plamondon Hospitality) continues his service as Treasurer and Scott Wisnom remains on the board’s executive committee as Past President.
Incoming board president Phil Bowers is a co-owner of Fountain Rock Management that oversees three restaurants in Downtown Frederick. He has served on the board of Visit Frederick for six years.
The board also added three new members this term, as Elizabeth DeRose of Frederick Community College’s Hospitality, Culinary, and Tourism Institute, Kristin Hanna of Flying Dog Brewery, and Monique Pasquale of 10 Clarke Place Bed and Breakfast.
