With her passions for writing and photography, as well as her creative thinking and leadership skills as an undergraduate, Nailah stood out to us as a candidate who reflects Bill Caspare’s spirit and represents the reasons we established this scholarship.

Advertising technology provider Visto, in partnership with the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s) Foundation, today announced that St. John’s University senior Nailah Fisher has been awarded the fourth annual Bill Caspare Memorial Fund Scholarship. Established to support multicultural students pursuing careers in advertising and media, the $10,000 award provides support to Fisher as she completes her studies and embarks on a career in advertising.

Fisher was selected in part for her strong academic record, innovative thinking, creative writing and peer leadership. Already demonstrating her significant talent in the advertising field, Fisher was the only Junior accepted to an elite, Senior-level course that finishes with participation in the American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition. The class selected Fisher’s creative strategy as the one presented to the judges, resulting in a strong fourth-place finish in their district, recognized as the event’s most competitive.

The scholarship was established in 2015 by Visto (formerly Collective) and The 4As, the leading trade organization for marketing communication agencies in the US, to commemorate Bill Caspare, a former senior executive with Collective. The fund provides a variety of resources including scholarships that allow students and young professionals of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds to explore careers in new media, data science and product development. This includes all rising college juniors and seniors who identify as African American, Asian American, Hispanic American, Native American, Multiracial or LGBTQ.

“With her passions for writing and photography, as well as her creative thinking and leadership skills as an undergraduate, Nailah stood out to us as a candidate who reflects Bill Caspare’s spirit and represents the reasons we established this scholarship,” said Kerry Bianchi, President and CEO of Visto. “We’re delighted to give her our support as she finishes her degree, and we look forward to seeing her embark on what is sure to be a very successful career journey.”

“In the dynamic field of marketing and advertising, it is industry critical to have a team of diverse and creative thinkers. Nailah Fisher is a great example of a stellar student passionate about the industry using her talent and skills to keep up with the continuous change,” said Marla Kaplowitz, President and CEO, 4A’s.
