VisTracks Launches “SnapTraq Hours of Service Pro” to Deliver Smarter Fleet Management

SnapTraq Hours Of Service Pro is a real-time, Web-hosted telematics application for managing and monitoring commercial trucking fleet vehicles and their drivers in accordance with current and proposed Government regulations for electronic logs and vehicle driver hours of service. SnapTraq Hours of Service Pro leverages the Wireless Vehicle Bus Adapter (WVA) from Digi International (NASDAQ: DGII), the M2M solutions expert.
The combined hardware/software solution – available through VisTracks distributors and cellular carriers – captures and analyzes a range of data, including engine diagnostics, vehicle mileage, driver logs, and maintenance milestones, to improve vehicle uptime, driver safety, transportation costs, and regulatory compliance. The SnapTraq managed service, one of seven managed services, is easy to use and requires a minimum of training and support.
Digi’s WVA is a rugged, compact plug-in device providing easy access to vehicle data through Wi-Fi connectivity. The device installs in minutes by connecting directly into the vehicle’s diagnostic port and transmitting data to the SnapTraq app on a smartphone or tablet. That phone/tablet then sends vehicle and driver data via WiFi or the cellular network to the SnapTraq central server for aggregation, fleet reporting, and analysis.
Traditionally, vehicle telematics has involved expensive and proprietary onboard computers, wiring challenges, and professional installations.
