Westport’s Premier Emerging Architecture Firm, Vita Design Group, Unveils Luxury Green Home in Connecticut Built in Collaboration with Urbane, New Builders
Westport, CT (PRWEB) September 30, 2015 -- Vita Design Group, a premier emerging architecture firm based in Westport, CT, used a unique design approach that focused on conserving resources and maximizing the interior space while complimenting the beauty of the area through architecture. The result is a luxurious and spacious Westport home, located at 14 Promised Road in Westport that offers a fresh look at the New England beach house design, with minimal environmental impact and in a modest footprint, and without sacrificing style or amenities.
Focusing on energy efficiency and cost effectiveness, this 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 2,400 square foot home offers a generous master suite, open floor living space, and large kitchen. The home also has an office, mudroom, play area, storage, bonus room with kitchenette, and two-car garage. Owners will enjoy expansive views of Long Island Sound from a 500 square foot deck.
“Our goal was to create a modern and expanded living space while staying true to our commitment to sustainable design,” said Lucien Vita, principal of Vita Design Group. “We’re proud this home is the epitome of an approach to both enhance and preserve the environment.”
Urbane Design Build completed the home construction to exacting, green standards. The house includes advanced, high-performance wall construction, LED lighting, super-efficient HVAC system, solar energy, elegant and high-efficiency appliances, and home automation that will drastically reduce energy bills. This luxury structure uses stained cedar board siding, cedar roof, and reclaimed wood as further accents to its unique design in this desirable area.
To further help realize conservation in the project and positively contribute to the community, Vita Design Group partnered with Humanim Inc.’s DETAILS Demolition group. A local non-profit organization, DETAILS Demolition employs and trains ex-offenders to dismantle and deconstruct buildings with the goal of preserving and reclaiming as many materials as possible. DETAILS Demolition were able to salvage kitchen cabinets, bathroom fixtures, hardwood floors, stairs, windows, doors, all of the HVAC system, lumber, metals, and plumbing from the property before construction. The process redirects materials away from landfills, positively impacts the local environment, and provides jobs to the community.
“Through careful design, creative use of materials, and quality construction” said Vita, “we’ve been able to create something unique that captures New England’s architectural vernacular with a nod towards modernism.”
