SAN FRANCISCO, April 4, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Purple Impression, a socially responsible fashion brand based in Silicon Valley is launching a new line of hand embroidered, eco-friendly sneakers. The fair trade apparel brand is founded by two sisters with a passion for women's development. They hope to make the fashion industry more inclusive and diverse by bringing people together through the universal values of fairness and love of art.
After four years in the fair trade apparel business, Purple Impression is now launching Fuse. A classic sneaker design with an eco and artisan makeover that won "The Best New Product Award" in the Hand Made Global Design section of New York Now, one of the biggest and reputable trade shows in the sustainable and artisan industry. Fuse is the answer to the fashion savvy buyer who wants earth-friendly options without compromising on style.
Designed in San Francisco and hand embroidered in Pakistan, these are no ordinary sneakers. The designers behind the brand have gone to great lengths to ensure that all the materials used in the production have followed strict fair trade and environmental standards. The shoe is made of organic cotton upper and sustainably harvested natural rubber. Both of these components are natural and sustainable when compared to the synthetic alternatives which dominate the market.
"Shoemaking today is still a very manual process which means a lot of human hands are involved in the manufacturing of our shoe. This makes fair trade and ethical working conditions an important consideration in our manufacturing & purchase decision" -Afshan Khan (Co-Founder Purple Impression)
Hand embroidery is a diminishing centuries-old art that needs to be preserved. Purple Impression is doing this by weaving it into modern design and everyday fashion, via a sneaker. This is something that's never been done before with the kind of transparency that they are able to provide. Each sneaker is hand embroidered one at a time by artisans in Pakistan providing economic opportunity and fair wages to artisans who are losing their craft to mass production. Fuse will be available for ordering on April 22nd, exclusively on Kickstarter.
"With climate change a big issue these days, we have made a classic sneaker design completely eco-friendly and have elevated it with our artisan's hand embroidery. Making luxury more affordable and sustainable". Drakshan Khan (Founder)

They founded Purple Impression with a mission to connect the undiscovered artisan community they grew up in with the global economy. Their apparel is being sold in multiple specialty boutiques nationwide that is made responsibly using GOTS Organic Cotton, zero waste production and artisan hand embroidery.
