CHANDLER, Ariz., May 18, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Volteo, a multi-national ServiceNow Elite partner, won first place at this year's ServiceNow CreatorCon 2020 Virtual Hackathon.
Volteo's team of ServiceNow architects and developers, based out of the company's Global Delivery Center in Hyderabad, India, developed an end-to-end digital clinical care system on the ServiceNow platform that helps healthcare teams efficiently gather a patient's medical history.
The CreatorCon Hackathon is a weekend-long event that gathers the global ServiceNow developer community to compete for prizes and glory. The goal is for participants to build an application, on the ServiceNow Platform App Engine, from concept to reality over a three-day period. This year's challenge focused on industry-specific solutions. After quick deliberations, the Volteo team opted to compete within the Healthcare vertical.
"Based on our research, developing an end to end EMR application made sense to all of us. We wanted to start by building a strong foundation for the application, and then take a practical route. We got in touch with medical professionals in the field to understand the pain points they go through on a day-to-day basis," said Chitembaram CK, Solutions Architect at Volteo.
The Clinical Care Management (CCM) application stores patient records, creating the ability to send out reminders for a follow-up visit. It has tables and functionalities that take care of a patient from hospital admission to generating a discharge summary.
Chitembaram CK, Abdul Azeez, Preethi Murugan, Shantanu Patel, Phanindra Pulletikurti, and Rohit Menda were the team of developers who built this application. They automated the generic medical tasks that occur on a day-to-day basis such as recording and validating a patient's vital signs, ordering lab tests, prescribing medications, etc. The ability to do all of this from one single place, leveraging the scale and flexibility of the ServiceNow platform, differentiates this application. The team leveraged ServiceNow platform capabilities like Flow designer, On-Call Scheduling, and Agent mobile application to make some of these capabilities possible.
Anandababu Mohan, Director at Volteo's global delivery center in India, highlighted. "The preparation and execution of this project were done in record time. The great enthusiasm and dedication of the team made me very proud. The results demonstrate the innovation and quality of the skillset we have at Volteo."
Only five finalists, out of close to 200 submissions, made presentations for a panel of five judges. On May 13, the panel of judges announced Volteo the winning team and awarded a prize of $5,000.
Go to market approach
The Volteo team is ready to make additional investments to take the Clinical Care Management app to the market to provide a solution tailored to solve challenges facing the healthcare industry every day by taking advantage of the capabilities of the ServiceNow platform.
"This achievement is a great opportunity to showcase the incredible amount of talent from our team of consultants and developers. This effort reflects the quality of products and services that we provide to our customers across the globe, our innovation culture and our end goal of delivering business outcomes through the ServiceNow platform," said Andres Cook, VP of North America at Volteo.
