Thoughtfully Curated Menu Highlights Unique and Delicious Food from Local Businesses
TEWKSBURY, Mass., Sept. 21, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ --
Walden Local Meat Co., a community-based, direct-to-consumer share program that hand-delivers high quality meat to members' doorsteps from farms across the Northeast, has unveiled its 2022 Thanksgiving lineup. This offering is an additional option for the company's more than 30,000 members to support local businesses when they're deciding what will end up on the Thanksgiving table this year.
"We're extremely excited about our Thanksgiving offerings as each partner was carefully curated, prioritizing small, local businesses, many of which are minority owned, as well as certified B corporations like us," said Mike Leahy, Vice President of Brand & Marketing, Walden Local Meat Co. "All the options are delicious and truly unique. For example, the sourdough rolls from Nashoba Brook Bakery are made with the bakery's own wild yeast, captured using Concord Grapes grown along the banks of the Nashoba Brook. Petsi Pie, a women-owned business based in Somerville, MA, uses our very own grass-fed dairy and pastured eggs, to make the pumpkin and apple pies. But this is just a 'taste' of the list - all our partners have something very special to offer our members for the holiday meal."
This year, Norm Zimmerman of Hoosick Falls, NY and Tim Haws of Romulus, NY will be raising the turkeys for Walden Local Meat Co. The entire menu can be found at here and highlights include the following:
- Cranberry Chutney from New England Cranberry Co. in Amesbury, MA.
- Ham glaze from Victoria's Gorment in Woburn, MA.
- Honey from Carlisle Honey in Tyngsborough, MA.
- Pumpkin and apple pies from Petsi Pies in Somerville, MA.
- Sourdough rolls from Nashoba Brook Bakery in Concord, MA.
- Turkey Brine from Curio in Cambridge, MA.
In addition to unveiling its 2022 Thanksgiving menu, Walden Local Meat Co. is giving back this holiday season by offering its members an option to purchase meat on behalf of local food banks. These include Abenaki Helping Abenaki and Pine Street Inn.
