City Council Resolution Advances the Project and Establishes a Long-Term Commitment to the Texas Hill Country
FREDERICKSBURG, Texas, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country, one of Texas' most anticipated luxury resort and residential developments, announced a major milestone following action by the Fredericksburg City Council approving a resolution that provides a clear path forward for the project's development and long-term relationship with the City.
A key component of the resolution is the approval of a revised conceptual alignment for the future roadway contemplated in the City's Comprehensive Plan. The revised conceptual alignment integrates with the Waldorf Astoria resort and residences master plan, while preserving the City's long-term transportation objectives.

Site work on Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country is already underway, and the development team continues to advance infrastructure, design, and construction planning for the project. Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country will mark the debut of Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts in Texas, bringing the brand's legendary hospitality to the heart of Texas Wine Country, less than one mile from downtown Fredericksburg and surrounded by the region's celebrated wineries, landscape and cultural attractions.
Set amid the natural landscape, Waldorf Astoria Texas Hill Country is designed to celebrate the region through architecture and interiors influenced by the land, local heritage and seamless indoor-outdoor living, imagined by Texas' Paul Duesing Partners. Plans include a clustered, ranch-style Waldorf Astoria resort and residences woven through large, open green spaces and oak woodlands, an expansive spa facility and wellness offerings, resort pools, distinctive culinary experiences led by a Michelin-starred chef, spacious event venues and the signature anticipatory services for which Waldorf Astoria is known. The project will also create a new gateway for travelers and homeowners to experience Fredericksburg as part of the broader Hill Country destination.
