New York City OB-GYN, Adeeti Gupta, MD, FACOG, continues to improve women's healthcare across the globe

The Presidential Leadership Scholars (PLS) program announced that Adeeti Gupta, MD, FACOG has been selected as one of the 60 Scholars chosen for the program’s fifth annual class.

Presidential Leadership Scholars are a diverse group of mid-career professionals beginning a journey to hone their leadership abilities through interactions with former presidents, key administration officials, leading academics, and business and civic leaders. The program is a collaboration among the presidential centers of George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Lyndon B. Johnson.

Women’s health has been on the forefront of the minds of politicians, health practitioners and consumers for as long as we can remember. Dr. Gupta has spent over a decade investigating why women evade the gynecologist, STD rates are rising at an alarming rate, and fatal diseases are going undetected until they are no longer treatable. Her sleuthing determined that fear, apprehension, logistics, financials, and inefficient wait times, for appointments and in the office, were the culprits.

Opening the first Walk In GYN Care in Manhattan in 2014 proved to be a game-changer in gynecological care. For the first time, women could see a board-certified gynecologist when it fit into their schedule, not vice versa. More women were the healthiest they had been in years due to this new concept. In 2017, Dr. Gupta expanded to Queens with a location in the popular area, Astoria. Over 1,500 women per year are treated at Walk In GYN Care, and Dr. Gupta helped 20% of them avoid emergency room visits, which is typically a massive financial burden.

The prestigious Presidential Leadership Scholars is a 6-month program where Dr. Gupta will refine her current award-winning leadership skills while developing a network and tactics that span traditional geographic, professional, political, and economic boundaries. The guidance Dr. Gupta will receive at the Presidential Leadership Scholars program will provide her with the impetus for global growth of Walk In GYN Care.

“This significant recognition of Walk In GYN Care has the ability to significantly change the way women receive gynecological care across the nation, even the world. When women are still treated as cattle and usually herded in and out of offices or hospitals in today’s day and age, we know change must happen now. My goal is to create a system of facilities across the entire nation that have the common goal of caring for women with compassion and high standards, so women can feel safe going to any of those centers,” said Dr. Adeeti Gupta, founder of Walk In GYN Care. “As a woman in medicine who has seen prejudice against women all over the world, The Presidential Leadership Scholars program is allowing me to take the independent, empowering and authoritative values my loving father instilled in me to help a conglomerate of women feel valued, heard and cared for.”

Walk In GYN Care is the only walk-in center in the country dedicated solely to women health. And there’s no appointment necessary. Both Manhattan and Astoria locations offer traditional gynecological care, STD and pregnancy testing, birth control and emergency contraception evaluation, on-site sonograms and more. Dr. Gupta developed a Well Woman Package to ensure even those without insurance, had access to quality care. Each location has weekend and pre and post-work hours to accommodate the modern-day superwoman.
