Wallin & Klarich Partner David R. Cohn Says Client Summer Hansen Did Not Have Sexual Relations with Students
Riverside, California (PRWEB) August 20, 2013 -- David R. Cohn, a partner at the Wallin & Klarich law firm, appeared in court at the Riverside Hall of Justice yesterday to defend Corona teacher Summer Michelle Hansen at her arraignment, case numbered RIF1308426, on 16 felony counts related to accusations of having sexual relationships with five underage boys. The arraignment was postponed until Sept. 12 because the deputy district attorney assigned to the case was unavailable.
"Ms. Summer Hansen says she did not have any sexual relations, period, with any of the boys. No lewd touching, no weird touching, nothing at all," Mr. Cohn said.
Ms. Hansen was arrested June 20 and is being charged with seven counts of oral copulation with a minor, six counts of unlawful intercourse with a minor more than three years younger and three counts of distribution of lewd material to a minor.
According to Mr. Cohn, five underage students from Centennial High School, where Ms. Hansen is a special education teacher, lied to authorities when they said they had sexual relations with Ms. Hansen. None of the students were members of her special education classes.
According to court documents, the boys also claim they received text messages from Ms. Hansen containing sexual words and photos. Mr. Cohn also said that Ms. Hansen’s phone was hacked and she did not send the messages. As far back as January, Ms. Hansen had reported to school officials that she had conversations with students and staff about messages they received from her phone that she did not send. She also replaced her phone twice.
Cohn has been practicing criminal law at Wallin & Klarich since 1995 and has experience winning all types of state and federal criminal cases, including matters related to child molestation.
