LENEXA, Kan., Jan. 13, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- With the completion of a new 10-Gigabyte protected enterprise network for the Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC), WANRack, a nationwide provider of fiber-optic Wide-Area Networks (WANs), extends its dominance as a private network supplier in Arizona and nationwide.
The Yuma YRMC network connects 16 sites to include the main hospital, clinics, and administrative office locations. The build-out entailed more than 700 fiber miles of new underground fiber and new aerial construction. Already live, the network provides 2,400 hospital system staff with much faster download and upload speeds, superior security, and the option to segregate their many critical applications.
"We are thrilled to extend our impact in southwestern Arizona by providing phenomenal network speed and airtight security for the Yuma Regional Medical Center," said Rob Oyler, WANRack Founder and CEO. "The residents of this area and its many annual visitors are experiencing the benefits of the best technology infrastructure available anywhere."
In 2016, WANRack completed a private fiber-optic WAN that provides 10-Gigabit service to 25 sites spanning two school districts that serve over 20,000 students throughout Yuma. In Arizona alone, WANRack has completed private fiber networks for 14 different school districts that cover every part of the state.
"A high-speed protected enterprise network is a critical element of our mission to deliver the latest advances in medical technology and healthcare services to our patient population," said Edgar L. Vidal, Director of Information Technology for Yuma RMC. "WANRack has a trusted, proven track record in this region, and the company delivered an incredible network solution – in only six months from engineering start to go-live finish – that exceeded our expectations."
