Allbirds, QVC, and Fanatics Among This Year’s Most Innovative Retailers

We’re thrilled to honor such an exceptional group of companies for their contributions to the e-commerce industry...our 2019 honorees exemplify the label of 'Best in Class'.

Worldwide Business Research (WBR), the world’s leading producer of B2B focused marketing events, today announced the winners of the 2019 eTail Best-In-Class Awards.

For the past seven years, the eTail Best-in-Class Awards have recognized the retailers that have demonstrated excellence in email, search, social media and mobile commerce marketing. This year’s finalists ran the gamut from household brands like Perry Ellis, Marriott and QVC to direct to consumer (D2C) retailers that included Tuft and Needle, S’Well and Allbirds. The winners were announced on-site at eTail West (the industry’s longest running conference dedicated to the e-commerce and omni-channel retail community) during a special awards gala at the JW Marriott in Palm Springs, CA.

The winners of the 2019 eTail Best-In-Class Awards are:

  •     Best Breakthrough Startup: StockX
  •     Website Redesign of the Year Win: DXL
  •     Best Mobile App: Overstock
  •     Best E-mail Marketing Campaign: Fanatics

Several new categories were created this year to highlight the growing role of social media and interactive marketing formats. The digital and social-first event attracted over 5 million viewers on Facebook Live, eight times the viewership the company sees on a typical day on the platform.

“Social platforms such as Facebook Live enable us to reach and engage new consumers, while also deepening the engagement of our best customers by fostering powerful communities within our brand experience,” said Alex Miller, SVP of Digital Commerce & Marketing for Qurate Retail Group which includes QVC.

Attendees at eTail West also chose the winner of the ‘Most Exciting Tech Award”, a new award launched designed to highlight the solutions vendor that they felt had the most innovative and impactful offering. Finalists included IgnitionOne, Bluecore, Perpetua and this year’s winner YourAnswer.

“We’re thrilled to honor such an exceptional group of companies for their contributions to the e-commerce industry,” said Lori Hawthorne, Senior Analyst and Divisional Director for eTail. “Every year our Advisory Board faces the daunting task of identifying and selecting the companies that are on the cutting edge of retail innovation, and our 2019 honorees exemplify the label of ‘Best in Class’.”
