Being included in these listings is a significant honor, as they are highly exclusive. Only up to 5% of attorneys in each state make it onto the Super Lawyers® listing, and only up to 2.5% make it onto the Rising Stars℠ list, according to the Super Lawyers® website. Welcenbach Law Offices have been honored in this way repeatedly over the years. According to their Super Lawyers® online profiles, Both Joseph J. Welcenbach and Ms. Bell have made it onto their respective lists for two years in a row. Meanwhile, Robert J. Peer nominations, peer evaluations and independent research are all used to create an impartial third-party rating system for the listings, as is noted on the Super Lawyers® website. This multi-phase selection process was patented in April 2013. Nominators are required to have personally observed the nominated lawyers carrying out their professional duties. The peer review part of the selection process involves candidates being given scores of one to ten by professional peers who serve on “blue ribbon” panels. Candidates are also evaluated by the Super Lawyers® research department, which assesses points to each lawyer in 12 areas relating to their law careers. The lawyers being reviewed are place into four different firm-size categories, and their overall points are counted in order to determine the finalists in each category.
