Data-driven marketing franchise celebrates 25 percent revenue year-to-date growth, expands into new markets

Atlanta-based marketing franchise Welcomemat Services recently celebrated its 15th year in business since its founding in 2003, and concluded 2018 with strong sales. This year also marked the fifth consecutive year that Welcomemat Services occupied a place on Entrepreneur's Franchise 500, and 2019 will mark the seventh consecutive year as a leader on Franchise Business Review’s list of Top 50 Franchise in Franchisee Satisfaction. Additionally, Welcomemat earned the title Top Innovative Franchise for 2018 and was named a Top 100 Franchise, both according to Franchise Business Review.

With an emphasis on the health and wealth of local businesses in the local communities of franchisees and throughout the country, Welcomemat has enjoyed considerable growth and success. The company saw over 25 percent revenue year-to-date growth, surpassed 2018 growth expectations for five new revenue streams in digital, social media and direct mail built around data gained from patented tracking over the past 15 years. Overall new product revenue grew by 50 percent from Q1 to Q3 in 2018.

“This was a landmark year for our brand,” said Brian Mattingly, CEO and Founder of Welcomemat Services. “The launch of our new platform has allowed franchisees to offer even more big-business technologies at an affordable investment to their local community partners. The result of this new platform has been unparalleled growth throughout the year, resulting in one of our biggest years yet.”

Welcomemat takes care to balance both traditional marketing offerings with digital products as well, keeping the doors open for a wide market and positioning itself to meet a given client’s changing needs. Franchisees also stay empowered to tailor marketing solutions to the needs of their local business clients, making Welcomemat a market-focused franchise poised for even greater success.

“Our franchisees value the connection to their communities and want to contribute to the success of local business in their area,” said Mattingly. “To this end, they serve as community marketing partners by bringing Welcomemat’s valuable marketing solutions—ranging from its proprietary print and direct mail program to data-driven social media campaigns and email marketing—right to the front doors of local business owners.”

Welcomemat’s approach is proving successful: Data-modeled and segmented mailings are producing response rates in the 5 percent to 17 percent range, whereas the average direct mail response rate is 2%. Buoyed by this momentum, Welcomemat Services plans to roll out a new patent-pending data-tracking technology to service its more than 60 territories in 25 states. This year also included the expansion of a Welcomemat multi-unit franchisee to their fifth territory, an exciting first for the company.

“Our growth showcases the value we bring our franchisees and clients alike, and differentiates us from others in the segment. We are excited to continue growing and targeting new markets in the year to come,” said Mattingly.
