WellHaven set out to find the best leader in health care, one who understands the needs of a growing, relationship-based, largely women-led profession.

WellHaven Pet Health — a family of companion animal veterinary hospitals headquartered in Vancouver, WA — announces the hiring of Jenni Jones as Chief Operating Officer, the promotion of Dr. Jen Bruns to Chief Veterinary Officer, and the promotion of Michelle Phuong to Director of Systems and Projects.

Jenni Jones leaves Midwest Dental after seven years as COO. She brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having just led a group of 230 dental practices with 350 doctors and 480 hygienists. “WellHaven set out to find the best leader in health care, one who understands the needs of a growing, relationship-based, largely women-led profession,” says John Bork CEO of WellHaven Pet Health. “We found the perfect person in Jenni.”

Joining Jenni in the C-suite is Dr. Jennifer Bruns. Dr. Bruns has been promoted from Senior Vice President of Talent at WellHaven to Chief Veterinary Officer, where she will work closely with Jenni to build trusting relationships with our doctors, teams, and profession. Dr. Bruns promotion was praised by Dr. Bob Lester Chief Medical Officer of WellHaven. “Jen and Jenni will make a powerful team in helping our practice reshape the profession. Both are proven, remarkable leaders who get our profession, and will help our practice continue to lead the industry into the future.” Michelle Phuong was also promoted to Director. Dr. Lester shared that, “Michelle’s work to drive projects that support our teams and hospitals has been outstanding.”

Jenni Jones is married with two teenage sons and a 12-year old labradoodle. Dr. Jen Bruns and her husband Chuck are raising three beautiful daughters, the oldest having just turned 13. Their household also contains a variety of furry family members. Michelle Phuong and her daughter are the proud pet parents to a new rescue puppy “Mochi.”

WellHaven is committed to gender diversity at the highest level of our practice and will be making another major announcement in that regard in early 2019.
