To accelerate the growth of Wellocity’s Telehealth platform for Disease Prevention Programs.

The Wellocity platform for personalized lifestyle change is designed to mitigate barriers, strengthen existing programs and improve participation in evidence-based programming.

Wellocity Health, a Telehealth platform company that powers the delivery of Digital Therapeutics Programs for evidence-based personalized lifestyle change focused on preventing diabetes and heart disease, recently announced the addition of two new advisors. Alon Gitig, M.D., F.A.C.C., a Preventive Cardiologist and Medical Director at Mount Sinai Health System, and Elizabeth Hawk MS, RDN, CDE at Penn State Health St. Joseph, have joined Wellocity’s advisory board.

Dr. Gitig is the Medical Director of the Heart Failure Disease Management Program for Mount Sinai Health System and the Director of Cardiology for Mount Sinai Doctors Westchester. He specializes in partnering with patients to transform their health in the most fundamental ways possible, by making lasting lifestyle changes. Elizabeth Hawk is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist at Penn State Health St, Joseph and is a registered dietitian-nutritionist with a master’s degree in Health and Physical Activity. Elizabeth cultivated her career in evidence-based health and wellness programming across the different environments of healthcare including clinical, community, and retail.

“We are very happy to welcome these two talented advisors, experienced leaders to advise our company through future phases of growth,” said Sameer Kanagala, CEO of Wellocity Health. “Their combined expertise will play a valuable role in creating new and exciting opportunities and strengthen Wellocity as a digital platform for delivering programs that empower our users and help health systems, health plans, and employers in preventing and managing chronic diseases and achieving their business goals.”

“Americans are facing unprecedented epidemics of chronic disease due to our sedentary lifestyles and problematic nutrition choices”, said Dr. Gitig. “Heart disease leads the list of serious health threats to our society that results from Americans’ lifestyles. A sea change is needed in the way we think about how our daily choices affect our quality and quantity of life, and this requires novel approaches to educating people and also to helping motivate them for change. Wellocity’s digital health platform is a powerful tool that is uniquely designed to optimize both consumer education and motivation. I have been very impressed with the Wellocity team’s understanding of how health behavior change occurs, and their vision for providing a digital aid to help people in that process.“

Elizabeth Hawk added “Despite the proven benefits intensive lifestyle intervention has on diabetes prevention and management, engagement in such programs is exceedingly low. Furthermore, the primary care delivery models often lack the required structure and organization for lifestyle change programs. The Wellocity platform for personalized lifestyle change is designed to mitigate these barriers, strengthen existing programs and improve participation in evidence-based programming. “
