Poole warns that acting in faith may seem difficult, scary and oftentimes, ridiculous. However, he encourages that once obedience is practiced, it will become easier. Doug Poole attended college at the University of Oklahoma. Then, he served with the Marine Corps, Okinawa and Vietnam, until getting married. His years of training taught him that God's ways were different from his own and that he needed more training. Growing up on a farm, his godly grandparents proved to be foundational in his development for what was coming in his future. With the school of hard knocks and the Lord woven throughout his life, it brought him in his seventies to finally arrive where God wanted him to be the whole time. Biblical principles finally persuaded Poole to seek the Lord and share with others what God has taught him and to reference God's principles in the writing of several books. Since retired, Poole has written this book, his fourth. He enjoys motorcycle riding, snow skiing, and traveling with his wife.
