Whistler Introduces New WS1088 and WS1098 Scanners

Bentonville, AR (PRWEB) September 11, 2015 -- The Whistler Group, Inc., a leading industry supplier of state-of the-art mobile electronics, announces the addition of two Digital Trunking Scanners – the WS1088 and WS1098 – to their existing scanner product line-up.

These models will feature a full backlit alphanumeric keypad in addition to the familiar Scan, Pause, Select and Navigation controls. A raised homing bar on the #5 key, various button shapes, and different backlight features improve accessibility. The full keyboard allows you to easily create new and edit Trunked systems, Sites, and Talkgroups directly from the scanner without the use of a PC for when you are on the go. A PC program (EZ Scan) is provided for additional customization.

The Whistler WS1088 (handheld) and WS1098 (desktop/Mobile) are multi-system adaptive digital trunking scanners with Motorola P25 Phase I, X2-TDMA and Phase II capabilities. All USA/Canada services and frequencies are pre-programmed onto the included SD card, making them ready to use out of the box – they can even be programmed by entering your ZIP code.

Additional features of the WS1088 and WS1098 include:

  • Permits recording by scannable object and saves into a Windows compatible audio file
  • Clock and calendar function adds date/time info to the recordings
  • Dedicated SKYWARN®/Weather button allows quick access to frequencies used by storm spotter networks and NOAA weather reports
  • Features Spectrum Sweeper and a programmable audio and visual alert system
