Wild Republic Expands Its Cause Marketing Campaign "Promise to the People" to Support the LGBTQ+ Community During Pride Month

TWINSBURG, Ohio, June 7, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Known for its premier realistic plush and toys, Wild Republic has announced a philanthropic campaign to support PFLAG Akron, the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies. Beginning immediately and slated to run throughout the entire month of June, known as Pride Month, with every purchase of Rainbow PocketKins, Huggers by Wild Republic and the Birthday Elephant Wild Republic will donate a percentage of sales to support various PFLAG Akron programs.

The Promise to the People initiative is an extension of the company's Promise to the Planet, People and Animals corporate responsibility program that launched in 2018. The Promise to the People initiative was initially developed in response to the growing need to provide healthcare workers with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) due to the pandemic and continues today with quarterly themes. This June, in coordination with Pride month, the program has expanded to focus on anti-bullying, particularly towards the LBGTQ+ youth and with PFLAG Akron.
PFLAG is committed to creating a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed. While trying to deal with all the challenges of being a teenager, the LGBTQ+ community also has to deal with harassment, threats and violence directed at them on a regular basis which can lead to substance abuse, self-harm, lower grade point averages in school and an overall unhappiness. These youth deserve a safe and respectful learning environment so they too can live up to their full potential. The organizations we have chosen help provide this in numerous ways.
Rainbows are for everyone and bring people together all over the globe and are a universal symbol for gay pride.
