Leading women from a host of industries came together to share their perspectives on accelerating women's equality
BOSTON, March 6, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In recognition of International Women's Day on March 8, 2023, leading customer data platform (CDP) BlueConic asked women executives across industries to share their career journey, provide their leadership lessons, and offer advice on how we can inspire future women leaders.
The effort included a roundtable discussion with women leaders from industries and occupations historically dominated by men. The distinguished panel of women included Liza Hays, Senior Litigation Counsel at Cengage Group, Alana Anderson, Assistant Dean, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at MIT, and Cory Munchbach, CEO, BlueConic.
The panelists revealed some of the challenges they have confronted in their own careers and what they felt was the biggest deterrent to women succeeding in the workplace. Considerable debate was also given to what more companies could be doing to minimize gender inequality within leadership and ensure those who have the ability to succeed are given ample opportunity. They also spoke about the women who inspired them the most and their advice to help other women meet and exceed their business goals.
In addition to the roundtable, BlueConic also interviewed women in leadership as part of a profile series. The women profiled include Josefine Boqvist, Head of Analytics and Mar-tech IT, Telia Company, Maddie Jahnke, Head of Marketing Connections, Pernod Ricard, and Sarah McMahon, Retention Marketing, Vans; as well as Morgan Simpson, VP Chief of Staff, and Katherine Boardman, Chief People Officer, both from BlueConic.
"We all need to be playing an active role in improving the many gender imbalances that continue to persist in both companies and society at large," said Cory Munchbach, CEO of BlueConic. "It was exhilarating to hear how these incredible women are not only committed to excelling in their own careers, but how they are ensuring the leadership ladder they climbed remains in place for those behind them."
