Women In Trucking Association Announces Continued Partnership with BMO Transportation Finance
Plover, WI (PRWEB) December 01, 2016 -- The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) announced today that BMO Transportation Finance has renewed its Gold Level Sponsorship to help the organization raise awareness of the need for more women in the transportation industry – both as drivers and corporate leaders.
WIT’s mission is to encourage women to consider careers in the trucking industry, address obstacles that might keep them from succeeding, and celebrate the success of its members. The association’s annual Accelerate! Conference and Expo, the WIT Index study which monitors the representation of women in the industry, and annual recognition of an “Influential Woman in Trucking” are just a few examples of recent initiatives that are helping the organization achieve its mission.
BMO Transportation Finance began supporting WIT in 2014. In addition to providing financial support, the company actively participates in the association. John Dietze, the company’s senior vice president of dealer sales, serves on the Board of Directors for both WIT and the WIT Foundation.
“BMO Transportation Finance has a rich history of supporting diversity in the trucking industry,” said Dietze. “I’m proud to continue to sit on the board and can’t wait to see what we accomplish in 2017.”
“Studies show that women can add value and help companies to improve performance, but they are dramatically underrepresented in the transportation industry,” said Ellen Voie, WIT president and CEO. “We’re grateful to business leaders like BMO Transportation Finance for their support in helping us raise awareness for the need for greater gender diversity in our industry. Their continued partnership will help Women In Trucking to engage more women at every level – and that’s good for all of us.”
