Wood-Mizer Announces Personal Best Contest Winners
Indianapolis, Indiana (PRWEB) December 01, 2015 -- Wood-Mizer LLC, the world’s leading portable sawmill manufacturer, announces the winners of their popular Personal Best Contest - a favorite tradition since 1985 that recognizes Wood-Mizer sawmill owners who have built dream projects by sawing their own lumber.
The contest, which occurs every two years, is open to any Wood-Mizer sawmill owner in North America interested in competing for their share of $20,000 in prize credits awarded to first, second, and third place winners for each of eight project categories. With more than 100 entries submitted this year, each project was judged on creativity, complexity, quality, and overall use of Wood-Mizer equipment.
“Every year, we continue to be amazed by the creativity and craftsmanship of Wood-Mizer sawmill owners all over the world,” said Wood-Mizer COO Darryl Floyd. “Congratulations to every sawyer who has accomplished their dream of building a project or business with a Wood-Mizer mill.”
Nathan Shewchuk of British Columbia won first place in the Homes and Major Structures category for building a 2,700-square-foot home and workshop with lumber from his Wood-Mizer LT40 hydraulic portable sawmill. Other first place winners include Jesse Matras of New Hampshire, Mark Watts of New York, David Dove of Indiana, Michael Connelley of Alabama, Bryan Summerlin of Oregon, Luke Bishop of Arkansas, and Beau Duman of Washington. In addition, John Hubbard of Kentucky earned the coveted People’s Choice Award for receiving the most public online votes for his family cabin. Winning projects from this year’s contest are featured in a special edition of The Wood-Mizer Way magazine and the Wood-Mizer Project Gallery.
