BOSTON, Sept. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- WordStream, Inc., a provider of online marketing software and services, is proud to announce it has partnered with Out in Tech, the world's largest community of LGBTQ+ tech professionals, to found Qorporate, a new membership program for companies committed to improving opportunities for LGBTQ+ people and underrepresented groups in tech.
Recruiting and retaining women, people of color and LGBTQ+ people—especially tech talent—is one of the biggest human resources challenges facing companies today. With the formation of Qorporate, WordStream will collaborate with Out in Tech and other members, including Bank of America and Snap, Inc., to share best practices, explore emerging workplace inclusion topics, and leverage the peer network for shared experiences in order to create a better, more inclusive environment in tech.
"When it comes to diversity in tech, thirty minds are better than one," said Andrew Lowenthal, executive director of Out in Tech. "By weaving together the collective experiences of our founding members, we will shine a light on what's working, push the envelope with new ideas, and create more equitable and inclusive workplaces for all underrepresented groups. We're thrilled to have WordStream as a founding member."
With this founding membership, WordStream will expand its efforts to cultivate an equitable and inclusive workplace for underrepresented groups. Earlier in 2019, WordStream joined the Boston Women's Workforce Council Initiative to end the gender wage gap and pledged to review and report salary and demographic data every two years, in addition to welcoming its latest employee resource group, PrideStream. The mission of PrideStream is to foster a safe, inclusive workplace for the LGBTQ+ community and allies through internal programming and education events as well as external partnerships, such as this new alliance with Out in Tech.
"WordStreamers have been active members of Out in Tech for a while now. It's an organization we respect and value in the Boston tech community," said WordStream's Director of Product Greg Palmer, who worked with PrideStream to establish the partnership. "Out in Tech has really started bringing the Boston LGBTQ+ tech community together, and Qorporate feels like a great way to strengthen that community even further."
