OAKLAND, Calif., July 9, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, Workit Health announced it has been awarded grant funding through the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Access Points Project, managed by the Center at Sierra Health Foundation. This funding will be used to expand Workit's digital medication-assisted treatment program in California, and launch pilot partnerships with emergency departments in key California counties.
Workit Health was one of 120 organizations which received grant funding as part of the MAT Access Points Project, coordinating care to a total of 270 access points for medication-assisted treatment across California, with goals of ensuring the delivery of MAT will facilitate positive treatment outcomes, safe management of care transitions, and long-term recovery for people with substance and opioid use disorders.

Throughout California, Workit Health has partnered with a diverse group of large self-insured employers including Steelcase and Kirkland & Ellis, providers including Medmark and BAART, and payers including Aetna. Over a year-long evaluation, 93 percent of Workit members reached abstinence from opioids after the first month in the program, and 84 percent remained off opioids after 12 months. Digital engagement remains high with members completing an average of three courses a week. The MAT Access Points Project is funded through the Department of Health Care Services California MAT Expansion Project and administered by The Center at Sierra Health Foundation.
