Workout Anytime Celebrated Major Milestones in 2019 and Expanded Leadership Team for Continued Success in 2020

The fitness brand sold 26 franchises and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2019.

Fitness franchise Workout Anytime has come a long way since it was founded in 1999. What started as an idea to provide customers with a convenient way to exercise has grown into a significant lifestyle brand with more than 175 locations across the United States. That said, the brand has not lost sight of its values. The fitness brand continues to pave the way in the industry and had an especially successful year in 2019—with plans to keep the momentum going in 2020.

For one, Workout Anytime celebrated a major milestone of which any franchise would be proud: its 20th anniversary.

In terms of internal company growth, Workout Anytime welcomed Terri Harof to the leadership team as the new Director of Franchise Development. Harof, whose background is in franchising and sports marketing, is thrilled to have joined Workout Anytime and is pleased with the franchise development headway the brand made in 2019.

Workout Anytime Senior Vice President of Development Randy Trotter credits Harof with much of the brand’s 2019 growth.

“Terri brings a wealth of experience, talent and energy to our development team,” said Trotter. “Terri has been with us since June, and in that short period of time has driven an impressive number of new opportunities and deals. We’re looking forward to Terri playing a significant role in our growth and success going forward.”

In terms of franchise sales, Workout Anytime sold 26 franchises in 2019. Of the 26 sales, 13 were from new franchisees and 13 were from existing owners. Having 50% of new sales come from existing franchisees was exactly what the brand wanted in 2019 and serves as a testament to its successful franchise system.

“Our most recent franchisees come from a variety of backgrounds,” Harof said. “They include medical sales professionals, multi-unit restaurant franchise owners who want to diversify their holdings and even Workout Anytime employees. We have a retired navy officer and his daughter, who has been a manager at Workout Anytime for the past three-and-a-half years, who have signed on as multi-unit franchisees.”

Workout Anytime also managed to break ground in key markets. The brand signed on with a franchisee who will open two new gyms in Jonesboro, Arkansas in March and May of 2020. Workout Anytime also signed new franchisees in the markets of Dayton, Ohio and Rochester, Pennsylvania and will open new locations in the Florida hubs of Merritt Island and Port Orange.

Workout Anytime also garnered major industry recognition in 2019. For one, the brand landed a spot on Franchise Times’ Top 200+ List for 2019. Workout Anytime also scored big at the Telly Awards, which recognize excellence in non-broadcast video and television programming, as well as excellence in local, regional and cable television commercials and online commercials. The brand took home the Bronze Winner prize in the Local TV and Social Video categories.

Harof is thrilled to see what the brand will accomplish in 2020.
