Nearly everyone in America has heard the classic poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas," more commonly known as "The Night Before Christmas." First published in 1823, this yuletide poem has been adapted into numerous children's books, parodies, and television programs.

Written by renowned military author Mike Guardia, and beautifully illustrated by Melanie Stephens, this book tells the story of Santa's surprise visit to the American GIs who are enduring the harsh winter without adequate food, clothing, or supplies.

Melanie Stephens is a distinguished artist and children's book illustrator. She has been a professional illustrator since 2003. Her previous works include "If Dogs Could Do Chores" and "Silly Blue Goose." A proud wife and mother of three amazing children, she is also a self-described "caretaker to a number of crazy pets." She currently resides in Virginia.
