The current landscape of the marketplace and the state of technology give us more tools to make the online shopping experience interactive, exciting, and as close to the actual in-store shopping experience as possible.
ALBANY, N.Y. (PRWEB) December 03, 2020
On November 20, 2020, Scott Bendett officially launched his new website, Scotty’s Cigars. The site allows customers from all over the US to shop from his renowned locations. The site boasts an extensive selection of premium cigars including many brands unavailable from other retailers. Scotty’s Cigars also features a wide array of pipes, pipe tobacco, humidors, lighters, cigar cutters, and other cigar accessories. Scott’s mission is to combine the personal touch his shops are famous for with the convenience and savings of shopping online. His dedicated team of tobacco experts is ready to provide exemplary service, and his prices, sales, and discounts are designed specifically to compete with the prices offered by the most prominent discount warehouses.
Scott got his start in the tobacco industry with just a few boxes of cigars and a kiosk at the local mall. His business grew, and then in 1999 he took his business to the internet, founding PipesandCigars.com. Both his shop and his website grew, with the website turning into the largest online distributor of pipes and pipe tobacco in the USA. In 2013 Scott sold the online portion of his business, returning his focus to his brick and mortar locations. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated shutdowns have driven Scott to return to the world of online tobacco sales.
In addition to traditional e-commerce sales, the new website features many ways for customers to purchase. Scotty’s Cigar Club is his new free-to-enroll loyalty program. It allows customers to earn points for purchases as well as for other non-purchase actions like writing product reviews or sharing the website on social media. These points can be redeemed for purchase discounts. The website also features cigar auctions that allow smokers to bid on discounted items as well as the “Haggle With Scotty” section. Haggling allows customers to make an offer on select items, with the site responding in real-time by accepting, rejecting or making a counter-offer. With the site’s commitment to price-match their competition and already featuring traditional discounts, sales, and coupon codes, bargain-hunters will find many ways to save.
With his new business launching during the holiday gift giving season, a key element of Scott’s new website is Scotty’s Holiday Gift Guide. Due their consumable nature and opportunity for a shared amount of time, cigars make for excellent holiday gift items. Since the massive inventory and selection can be daunting for the uninitiated, Scotty’s expert staff has hand-picked some of the best gift items in the shop and grouped them together to make shopping for a cigar gift as easy as possible for someone unfamiliar with cigars.
To launch his new company, Scott has re-assembled some of the top members of the team that helped to run his old online site as well as adding some new ones. Travis Lord, a key member of the old staff and long-time online cigar industry veteran, built the company’s new website and has taken a leadership role in the marketing and graphic design areas. Alex Waters, another veteran of the old website and current manager of the Albany brick and mortar location, will be overseeing the production staff and purchasing/merchandising. Kaira Ouellette has been with the company for over 10 years in various capacities, and is heading up customer service while applying her expert-level of tobacco knowledge to all areas of the company. Brian Malone and Drinnan Thornton will be working in shipping, order processing, customer service, and wherever else they are needed. Scott himself oversees all elements of the business and works hands-on in a variety of areas to ensure that his mission of transferring the smoking experience from the lounge to the web is executed to meet his high standards.
“Getting back into the e-commerce arena is a thrilling new chapter for me.” Said founder Scott Bendett, “The current landscape of the marketplace and the state of technology give us more tools to make the online shopping experience interactive, exciting, and as close to the actual in-store shopping experience as possible. I feel our team is made up from some of the most knowledgeable and creative minds in the cigar industry today, and together we have built on our collective experience to create what I feel is an online cigar shopping experience unlike any other.”
The initial site launch attracted thousands of shoppers to the new website, both from long-time customers who are happy to be able to shop with Scott again as well as new customers who are just learning about the company. Scotty’s Cigars website is open and taking orders and phone calls now. People interested in learning more can visit http://www.scottyscigars.com or call 518-690-2222 x6.
