WorldLegacy Leadership Team Creates Extreme Makeover of a School in the Kwa Zulu Natal Province in South Africa
In one weekend, a team of nine WorldLegacy leaders from around the world will create an extreme makeover in a school in South Africa. By renovating five classrooms including flooring, ceilings and painting, children will have a renewed learning environment and will get that they matter.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C., July 20, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- WorldLegacy's NC189 leadership team, based in Chapel Hill, NC is transforming the Isigudu Primary School in the rural Kwa Zulu Natal Province in South Africa from July 23, 2021 – July 25, 2021. Nine individuals from the United States and South Africa selected this school because the classrooms have no electrical lighting or ceilings, have damaged concrete flooring, walls with dark and dingy paint, and no bookcases to store supplies or books.
NC189's vision is for a united world of abundance, freedom and love. This project is a manifestation of their vision. The team will install luxury commercial vinyl floor tiles, repaint all of the walls with colorful paint and install bookcase, ceilings and electrical lighting in five classrooms. In addition, they will plant an avocado tree outdoors.
The intent of this extreme makeover is to have the children get that they matter, that they are loved and that there are infinite possibilities in this world. This new learning environment will produce future leaders who can soar into fields such engineering, sciences and arts, thereby forever transforming the destiny of their families and South Africa, for generations to come. It is even more important to have people see possibilities in South Africa given the current political unrest and COVID-19 health impacts.
This extreme makeover project is the culmination of WorldLegacy's three-month leadership development program. What makes this project unique is that the WorldLegacy leadership team must completely design the project from start to finish, cannot use any of their own money, and must partner with the community to manifest the project. The project must be completed in three days or less. WorldLegacy is committed to maintaining standards of excellence for its legacy leadership projects, that are part of every leadership class. WorldLegacy has been operating for more than twenty-five years and trains at least seven leadership programs each year. Over the years, WorldLegacy has donated more than $3,500,000 in cash, contributions and labor through the projects.
The WorldLegacy NC188 Leadership Team asks for your partnership to make this project possible. Please come and participate with us in all aspects of the work or donate resources for the project. The list of items and donation page can be found at this link. The adventure will begin on Friday, July 23 at 2 pm, and will continue all weekend, completing on Sunday, July 25, 2021. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 4 AM Eastern US Time (10:00 AM South Africa) at the school and virtually. The ceremony will celebrate and honor all donors, volunteers and leaders who gave of their time, talents and resources to make the project a success.
