Shahar says that SensPD takes a whole new approach to detecting autism. She explains, "At SensPD, we are developing a technology to objectively detect autism right after birth. We use a physiological marker, we do not go to the behavioral side of things, but we use something that is objective that requires no patient collaboration. We utilize the sense of hearing to measure sensory perception. It's a known denominator across the spectrum in autism. When we're able to detect that early, we're able to enable early intervention. Our screening test is very simple, it feels and looks like a hearing test but is it much more, we go beyond the sense of hearing and measure the sensory perception, then it goes out to the cloud and then we get the results. So we use an objective way to detect autism, not a subjective way as it is mostly done today."
