WoundRounds® Launches New Mobile App for Wound Management
Schaumburg, IL (PRWEB) August 29, 2016 -- WoundRounds®, the leading wound management solution, has announced their comprehensive wound documentation system is now available as a mobile app. The mobile app is available for WoundRounds clients on the Apple App Store.
“Adoption of mobile devices and applications has accelerated in recent years,” says Mike Diamond, CEO of Telemedicine Solutions, makers of WoundRounds. “The WoundRounds mobile app allows healthcare facilities to expand use of the WoundRounds solution to Apple mobile devices, leading to enhanced clinical outcomes and staff efficiencies.”
Data security is a growing concern for healthcare workers’ mobile devices, in light of a recent health system’s fines for HIPAA violations resulting from the theft of a staff member’s mobile phone. Diamond states, “The WoundRounds app works with the facility’s mobile device management (MDM) tools and meets strict security requirements to safeguard protected health information, because WoundRounds encrypts data and uploads to secure servers without any latent data on the mobile devices.”
According to Lou Buckner RN WCC, Director of Nursing at Uplands Village, a senior community located in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee, “The WoundRounds App is self-intuitive and provides the ability for wound assessment parameters with photos to be entered easily at bedside. The data seamlessly uploads to the website, and is a great tool for quality assurance process.” Tracy Fluhr LPN, Electronic Health Records Clinical Resource Specialist Nurse at Nazareth Home, located in Louisville, Kentucky agrees. “We absolutely love the WoundRounds app. The bedside charting improves accuracy and saves so much time. The resulting chart documentation and reporting really helps us proactively manage wounds.”
“We’re excited that Uplands Village, Nazareth Home, and other clients have so quickly transitioned to the mobile app, and we actively seek other healthcare providers with mobile strategies who are committed to enhancing direct patient care. By leveraging our wound management solution with mobile technology, healthcare providers can empower care teams to deliver excellence in wound care and enhance patient quality of life,” Diamond adds.
