In order to be eligible for a Litigator Award™, law firms must have an exemplary record of practice and must have demonstrated extraordinary litigation achievement. “Extraordinary litigation achievement” is measured by having at least one of the following: two verified verdicts or settlements of at least $1 million within the past 10 years, one verified verdict or settlement of at least $5 million within the past 15 years, or one verified verdict or settlement of at least $10 million within the past 20 years.
The nomination and award process is more rigorous than most. It cannot be purchased and is based on verdicts and settlements rather than peer popularity alone. According to the Board of Regents™, “Of the nearly 1.1 million lawyers considered, only a select few (about 12 law firms) per state or DMA, will achieve the distinction of being awarded each year in any given practice specialty.”
